Chief Tucker began his Fire and Emergency Medical Service career in 1982 in Florida working. In 2002 he left Gainesville Fire Rescue in Gainesville, Florida and moved to Alaska where he currently serves as Fire Chief of the City of Kenai Fire Department. Chief Tucker has also served as Fire Chief for Central Emergency Service in Soldotna, Alaska and North Star Volunteer Fire Department in North Pole, Alaska.
Chief Tucker is the Vice President of the Western Fire Chiefs Association and also is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs Communications Committee.
Chief Tucker has an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of Florida, an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science from Central Florida Community College, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Fire Service Administration from Western Illinois University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program.
